Visit Otley is launching a Summer of Cycling this week that brings together the professional road cycling events taking place in or passing through the town and combines them with a family cycling week to create a calendar of events to suit cycling fans of all levels.
To help promote cycling in and around the town, a new Otley Cycling Hub section has also been added to the Visit Otley website offering details of cycling friendly businesses, suggested cycling routes and an events calendar.
Otley’s Summer of Cycling starts this weekend when the fourth stage of the 2019 Tour de Yorkshire men’s race passes through the town on Sunday afternoon.
To celebrate the annual cycling festival that sees the town thronged with sports fans, Otley has been decorated with flags, while a special piece of ‘living’ field art will be on display by the entrance to the Otley Showground.
Elsewhere, The Stew and Oyster pub will be hosting a Tour de Yorkshire static ride to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Otley Boats will be operating on the River Wharfe, and there will be a series of live music performances at the Woolpack Studios taking place between noon and 7pm.
