Otley’s Green Festival hits town

Otley became the first town in Yorkshire to declare a climate emergency following a unanimous vote from councillors at the full council meeting on March 25.

The declaration means the town has to take urgent action to tackle climate change and work towards being carbon neutral by 2030.

The decision is a timely one given that the Otley Green Fair is being held at Otley Courthouse tomorrow.

The fair will feature a host of stalls from community groups and national organisations such as Wildlife Friendly Otley, Otley Energy, the RSPB and The Woodland Trust.

Entry is free and the fair is open from 10am to 4pm.
