Otley Womens’ Institute
The Women’s Institute (WI) was formed in 1915 to revitalise rural communities and encourage women to become more involved in producing food during the First World War. Since then the organisation’s aims have broadened and the WI is now the largest voluntary women’s organisation in the UK. The WI will celebrate its centenary in 2015 and currently has 212,000 members in around 6,600 WIs.

A community based walking group recognised for its friendly informality.We came into being in 2003 when a group of walkers decided to maintain the momentum created by the highly successful Otley Walking Festivals.Our first ever walk attracted 21 participants and today there are over 100 members drawn from Otley and surrounding localities. Otley Mens’ Forum
Founded in 1970, the aim of the forum is to offer Friendship & Enjoyment to our members by offering interesting and entertaining talks by a variety of speakers . Members are currently charged £2 per meeting and coffee and biscuits are provided at the end of each talk.

Otley Conservation Task Force
OCTF has been raising awareness of buildings of architectural or historical merit. Members secure formal protection for some of Otley’s most important buildings . They assist in restoration projects and continually promote conservation values through their close associations with Otley Town Partnership, Otley Town Council and Leeds City Council by helping to shape the policies that will promote conservation in years to come
