Cycling is always big news in Otley and one of the town’s most cycle-friendly cafés – Bloomfield Square – is hosting a couple of talks about life on two wheels this month.
First up on Wednesday, March 11 from 7pm will be Trevor Lund who will be launching his book North to Alaska, detailing his epic 16,000-mile journey from the tip of Argentina to the top of Alaska. Trevor will be reading from the book and signing copies on the night.
Eight nights later on March 19 (and also at 7pm), local author, artist and racer Heather Dawe will also be doing a talk about her adventures in and out of the saddle.
An endurance athlete who has won the Helvellyn Triathlon, twice finished first lady in the Fred Whitton Challenge and in 2008 won the renowned Three Peaks Cyclo-Cross, she will be telling stories about her racing and other adventures in the mountains.
Along with these stories she will be reading short excerpts from her books A Cycling Year, High Inspiration and Adventures in Mind.
Tickets for both events are free. See here for Trevor’s launch and here for the Heather Dawe talk.
