The Tour de Yorkshire April 30-May 3, 2020
The magnificent Tour de Yorkshire will once again be coming through Otley – this year on Stage Four, the final day, of the men’s race on Sunday May 3.
The fourth day distance of 177.5km will see the men start the day in Halifax, reaching as far north as Malham, before returning to Leeds for the race finish via Ilkley, Otley and two gruelling climbs: the Côte de Cow & Calf and the 232-metre Côte de Chevin.
While the race is not expected to pass through Otley until the late afternoon, the town is expected to be busy throughout as the medium and longer amateur Sportiv races are also routed through Otley.
Riders will enter the Otley area descending from Menston down West Chevin Road onto Piper Lane and Westgate. It will then head up Bondgate from Beech Hill, and travel up Gay Lane before the long, arduous climb up East Chevin Road and Otley Old Road as it heads towards Carlton and Cookridge. See here for the full Stage Four route.
