Five things to do for Valentine’s Day in Otley – 2020

If you want to show a loved one how much you care, here are five things to do for Valentine’s Day in Otley.

Check out the love locks on Otley Bridge
The River Wharfe, the slowest running river through the Yorkshire Dales, runs through the centre of town and provides plenty of scope for romantic riverside strolls. Check out the love locks on both Otley Bridge and the White Bridge over the river. Like those once seen in Paris on the Pont des Arts over the River Seine, star-crossed lovers put an inscription on the lock, fasten it to the railings and throw away the key as a symbol of their love. Say it with chocolates from Patisserie Viennoise
Yorkshire celebrities’ favourite chocolatier and cakemaker is Trevor Backhouse of famed Patisserie Viennoise – the town’s resident Willy Wonka having created the wedding cake of heptathlon star Jessica Ennis among others. Visitors can gaze through the open-plan windows as the chocolate machines whir and whisk, and then pop in for some of the most amazing truffles. Favourite flavours selected, the team will box and gift wrap them for a truly unique present bound to melt a loved one’s heart as the chocs melt in their mouth.
