This Saturday (June 15) sees the return of Otley Carnival – one of the most prominent events on the town’s summer roster.
Now in its 36th year, the Carnival is a true celebration of the town and its residents, and is aimed at giving local children a day to remember.
Events start with a parade, comprising numerous colourful floats, walking tableaux, various bands and a variety of vehicles, that sets off around 1.15pm from Leeds Road. The parade wends its way through the town centre and finishes at Otley Show Ground at Bridge End.
Here, the fun continues with sideshows, charity and trade stalls, children’s rides and entertainment – the Carnival Queen is crowned and there’s a host of displays and speciality acts designed to appeal to all tastes.
Best of all, it’s absolutely FREE to watch the parade and enter the showground – so make sure to join in the fun.
