Twelve Days song goes on sale as a single

  • Single available to buy from today after 2018 Christmas video reaches more than one million people
  • Song sale coincides with Twelve Days of Otley Christmas social media giveaway

The Twelve Days of Otley Christmas song that accompanies our 2018 Christmas advert is on sale as a digital download from today.

The song, where local choir Sally’s Army extol the virtues of Christmas in Otley in a take on the well-known Christmas carol, is available to buy on popular digital music services such as iTunes and Amazon Music, with streaming services such as Spotify and Deezer also offering the song.

The single release comes on the back of our video’s viral success. To date the video, which features 12 fabulous things to see and do in Otley including sampling some of the town’s ‘fine pork pies’, has reached more than 55,000 people on the Visit Otley Facebook page and been viewed a further 4,300 times on YouTube.

With the video also appearing on a number of regional TV channels and on local and regional websites, it is estimated that the total reach could have exceeded well over one million people.

The launch of the song on digital download also coincides with the start of an associated Twelve Days of Otley Christmas giveaway.

Over the course of 12 days until Sunday December 23, visitors to the Visit Otley Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/visitotley/) will be able to enter a daily prize draw to win locally sourced goodies including a turkey serving 8-10 people, a bottle of Yorkshire Heart sparkling wine, VIP memberships to Otley Pub Club and, of course, some fine pork pies sourced from one of the town’s three award-winning butchers.

The Twelve Days of Otley Christmas is available to buy or stream from today. Depending on the service used, the cost of a download is between 79p and 99p. Profits will go to Town Mayor Cllr Mary Vickers’ chosen charity. The Visit Otley Twelve Days of Christmas giveaway will offer a daily prize on the Visit Otley Facebook page from today to Sunday December 23.
