Otley has been shortlisted in the 2018 British Coach Tourism Awards in the coveted Coach Friendly Destination category.
Over the last two years, Otley has made great strides in enticing more coaches to stop in the town, including dedicated parking areas, pick-up and drop-off points, coach driver incentives and dedicated signage to help coaches better navigate the town center.
Otley will be vying for the destination title with Beverley, Bournemouth, Burnham-on-Sea, Devon, Guildford and Wells
Wells – with the list selected from a panel of judges including Group Tourism & Travel Editor Jessamy Chapman, Coach Tourism Association’s Chris Wales, former Epsom Coaches MD Steve Whiteway, UKinbound’s Antony Amos, and Blue Badge Guide Leon Preston.
The winners will be announced at a gala ceremony held at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham on March 21, following the first day of the British Tourism & Travel Show. The crème de la crème of coach tourism will come together to recognise and celebrate excellence and innovation. The only night of its kind – specifically for the thriving coach tourism sector – the gala dinner is a spectacular event.
