A warm welcome for travel groups in Otley

Otley provides a warm welcome for group and coach tours visiting the town to see our fabulous history, visit our amazing shops and market, take in tours of our film locations, or enjoy the surrounding great outdoors where national heroes such as the Brownlee Brothers and Lizzie Deignan have trained.

Please watch the above short video for five suggested things to do on a visit

Arrival welcome

Otley welcomes group and coach travel and we can provide an arrival for coaches on request. Where possible, the welcome will be provided by the Otley Bellman or a local volunteer in his stead. The person providing the welcome will also be able to provide tourism information, including leaflets, about the town. To request a welcome from the bellman, please click here to email a request. Please note – the availability of the bellman is limited and not all requests can be accommodated, despite our best efforts.

Coach drop-offs

There are two centrally located coach drop-off points on the A659 (Boroughgate LS21 1AG). Both drop-off points display maps of Otley to make it easier for visitors to find their way around.

The Westbound drop off point (towards Ilkley and Skipton) can be found here

The Eastbound drop off point (towards Pool and Harewood) can be found here

Waiting areas

There is shelter at Otley Bus Station, across the road from the coach pick-up/drop-off points and also under the ‘overhang’ outside KD Carpets/Roadrunner sandwich bar on the west-bound A650 (location as above).

Coach parking

There are three coach parking spaces on Cattle Market Street, LS21 1RW – a short drive from the drop-off points. These are for long-term parking and are free of charge. There are regular traffic warden patrols in the week to ensure these are not occupied by other vehicles.

Facilities

There are public conveniences with disabled access in Orchard Gate, LS21 3NX, and next to the Riverside Café in Wharfemeadows Park, Farnley Ln, LS21 2RW. Many of the town supermarkets, cafés, pubs and restaurants offer disabled facilities.

Coach  driver facilities

Coach drivers are welcome to use the public facilities above. If the town council offices are open in the adjacent Otley Core building, please request access for free.
