SUMMARY:Lunchtime Recital: Eira Lynn Jones
DESCRIPTION:Acclaimed harpist\, Eira Lynn Jones has travelled the world 
 with her harp\, and is a true ambassador for this magical instrument. Sh
 e has given recitals in Reykjavik\, Johannesburg\, Athens\, Copenhagen\,
  Dublin and New York and has released several CDs. A regularly guest wit
 h the Hallé\, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and BBC Philharmonic\, Eira 
 has performed at the London Proms\, and toured to Japan\, USA and Europe
 . More eclectic work includes recording with the Black Dyke Brass Band a
 nd the heavy metal band\, Venom\, plus appearing on Coronation Street as
  harpist\, Lucinda Jane Grey.\n\nAs Head of Harp at the Royal Northern C
 ollege of Music\, Manchester for nearly 30 years\, she established a vib
 rant harp community across the North West. Favourite projects included A
 rtistic Director RNCM Harp Weeks and RNCM Young Harps\; a co-production 
 with Dance Syndrome\, whose members have Downs Syndrome\, and a collabor
 ation with composer\, Martin Ellerby.\n\nHer recital will include favour
 ite classical pieces\, traditional melodies on her folk harp\, and a wel
 l-loved jazz standard. Come along to be enchanted.
