Hailing from Teesside Emma Wilson is a dynamic soulful blues singer. 2018 saw Emma making waves on the British Blues scene performing at festivals including “Darlington Blues Festival”, “The Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival” & “The Crawdaddy Club Riverside Festival” she was a featured artist in November 2018 issue of “Blues in Britain” magazine & her single “Today I sing the Blues” a cover of an early Aretha track, has been played across the UK blues stations and chosen as a pick of 2018 by several DJs. Described as a “Blues Siren” Emma has a big fabulous voice and works her band to the max, moving from heartwrenching sweet soul licks to powerful blues, her live show is emotional and cool. Influences include Aretha, Ann Peebles, Muddy Waters & Etta James, she also pens some great originals !
Dr Bob and the Bluesmakers are a popular band based in the Wharfe valley. Since recording ‘The Workshop Sessions’ a couple of years ago they have received acclaim from around the UK and abroad. In November 2018 the album, recorded completely live at their rehearsal room, reached no.3 in the most played album charts of the IBBA (Independent Blues Broadcasters Association). The line up has recently changed and the band will be showcasing a batch of new material, a combination of original songs and cover versions.
